BLP Spring Programming
Broken Leg is thrilled to present our exciting spring educational programs! We hope you and your friends will join us for a season of growth, theatre education, high quality theatre friends and fun!
To the BLP Community,
At this time, all performances and rehearsals will be suspended, until such a time is instructed by our public health officials.
Of most immediate impact is our forthcoming production of ‘Into The Woods Jr.’ with slated performances for March 27-28. At this time we are at work on POSTPONING this production. Cast members and ticket holders will be informed as plans solidify for this postponement over the coming days. We will also be suspending in person rehearsals for ‘Dogfight’ and ‘Xanadu’ but currently hope to be able to keep the performance dates intact. We will also be in touch with both of the casts of these shows with further details and adjustments soon.
We will continue to monitor the situation, and should our plans change we will post information on our website, our Facebook and Instagram pages as well as notifying actors, production staff, and current ticket holders via email. We obviously look forward to resuming production on all programming as soon as possible.

BLP Spring 2020 Musical Production: ‘Xanadu’
The engaging and challenging musical ‘Xanadu’ will be our Spring 2020 main stage production. This show has been on BLP’s radar for a long time and we’ve been waiting for the right time to tell this hysterically self-deprecating story.
Xanadu follows the journey of a magical and beautiful Greek muse, Kira, who descends from the heavens of Mount Olympus to Venice Beach, California in 1980 on a quest to inspire a struggling artist, Sonny, to achieve the greatest artistic creation of all time – the first ROLLER DISCO! (Hey, it’s 1980!) But, when Kira falls into forbidden love with the mortal Sonny, her jealous sisters take advantage of the situation, and chaos abounds.
Xanadu is a moving, electrifying tale of endless fun that will keep audiences in stitches while the original legendary, chart-topping tunes lift them out of their seats. You’ll want to keep the music in your head and Xanadu in your heart… forever.

Spring 2020 Musical Production: ‘Dogfight’
The engaging and challenging musical ‘Dogfight’ will be our Spring 2020 main stage production. This show has been on BLP’s radar for a long time and we’ve been waiting for the right time to tell this nuanced and complicated story.
The hauntingly beautiful musical, Dogfight, by Pasek and Paul (Edges, James and the Giant Peach, A Christmas Story) and Peter Duchan, was praised by countless critics and nominated for numerous awards, winning the Lucille Lortel Award for Best Musical. Based on the 1991 Warner Brothers film, Dogfight takes audiences on a romantic and heartbreaking theatrical journey that stays with you long after the performance.
It’s November 21, 1963. On the eve of their deployment to a small but growing conflict in Southeast Asia, three young Marines set out for one final boys’ night of debauchery, partying and maybe a little trouble. But, when Corporal Eddie Birdlace meets Rose, an awkward and idealistic waitress whom he enlists to win a cruel bet with his fellow recruits, she rewrites the rules of the game and teaches him the power of love and compassion.
