Copy of summer 2020

Our summer 2019 season was another summer of growth and change at BLP, with over 97 students from many communities involved in 4 thrilling and unique productions. We hope you and your friends will join us for an AMAZING summer theatre experience!

Below you will find information on our NEW summer season which will be a huge departure and exciting challenge. We have SO many plans on how to make this work, and each plan has a backup plan as well. We WILL be creating with you this summer! It will be a totally new way to create, but I think it will push us all to become better performers, and when we return to “normal” we’ll have a whole new set of skills. These shows feature are more adaptable to online/in person storytelling, allow for distance between performers and are shows that are accomplishable given our restrictions.

MIDDLE SCHOOL PROGRAMMING:

Our middle school productions are being creatively designed to adhere to social distancing with masks worn.

We are restructuring how we normally do things with our students but promise a theatrical and educational experience that will be fun and challenging for all. These shows were specifically chosen because of our ability to design an experience that will be meaningful but safe. But don’t worry games, theme days, activities, workshops and theatre fun will still be a part of our experience.

SOME CHANGES TO OUR MIDDLE SCHOOL PROGRAMMING:

  • We will meet in person from 9a to 12p, then dismiss students to go home for lunch. An afternoon music/ group activity session will be held daily in the afternoon between the hours of 1:30-3:00 via Zoom.
  • We will be following BLP’s new safety protocols (attached here)
  • We will cap both productions at 15 students. Once full we will maintain a waiting list.
